Episode 57: Reimagining the PR Industry with Fatou Barry

Fatou B. Barry is on a mission to bridge knowledge and equity gaps while creating safe spaces for BIPOC professionals to thrive. In this episode of The Prosper Project, we talk about her work generating opportunities to grow and amplify talent that is typically overlooked.

Fatou is the founder of PR Girl Manifesto, a nonprofit and digital community of over 40,000 professionals globally in the Communications field. The community works to re-imagine the communications industry while supporting its constituents through access to resources, fellowship, and mentorship.

Her work is influenced by her desire to bridge equity gaps for young people of color. She has created several spaces to grow and nurture this community by sharing knowledge and experience to generate opportunities. This includes the launch of Hold The Press, a grassroots initiative co-founded by Fatou that calls for action, accountability, and transparency in the Public Relations industry for Black people.
