Requirements
This is an exciting opportunity for a student to work within a public relations firm focused on social and environmental impact. The intern’s primary role will be to assist the Prosper for Purpose with event planning assistance and preparatory work for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Ohio, an event to celebrate, empower and support women in business to alleviate poverty. This person will also manage social media (Facebook and Instagram) for the event. Other related public relations tasks may also be assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and promotion of Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Ohio, to be held November 19, 2020
- Have the opportunity to contribute to the ideation of various public relations plans, including social media and event strategies
- Create, schedule and promote content for WED social media channels
- Develop media and blogger outreach lists
- Collaborate on miscellaneous projects
Education & Experience: A college junior or senior working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Event Planning or Communications. Proven experience as an excellent writer, editor, presenter, proofreader and planner.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Interest in event planning and public relations
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a virtual team
- A positive attitude and a strong passion for doing well and doing good!
